The Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2/8 is an excellent NVR when you want to store security footage from your IP cameras. The 8-channel recorder supports two 6TB hard drives and allows you to watch and review video recordings live via computer, smartphone or tablet.

8-channel video recorder

The 8-channel Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2/8 is an excellent recorder for storing, live viewing and reviewing Hikvision IP camera footage. Connect the NVR to your network and connect a Hikvision or other brand camera to the recorder. You can add a total of 8 cameras. For this, however, you need to place a suitable switch between the cameras and NVR.

Sufficient storage capacity

You can store hours of footage in high 8MP resolution on the Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2/8. This is because the NVR supports two hard drives of 6TB storage capacity each. In addition, the recorder applies H.265, H.265+, H.264, H.264+ and MPEG4 image compression, which means that although images are reduced in size, they are stored without loss of quality.

Viewing images live and afterwards

You can view the camera images from your connected IP cameras live via the Hikvision software or via the Hik-Connect app for Android and iOS. This makes it easy to keep surveillance even on your tablet or smartphone. But if something suspicious has happened, you want to be able to review the recordings. The Hikvision DS-7608NI-K2/8 therefore offers the ability to review camera images from eight channels simultaneously.

Alarm notification possible

Hikvision cameras from the EasyIP 3.0 series support, among other things, line crossing technology and detect when luggage is left behind. If you connect one of these Hikvision IP cameras to the Hikvision recorder, you can set up your recorder to send you a push notification when someone crosses a set line, for example. This allows you to instantly watch live camera footage in the Hik-Connect app. It is also possible to trigger an alarm (not included) when an event is detected or to receive a push notification when a connected motion detector (not included) detects movement.
